A Message from our President!
Welcome to the South Florida Mountaineers website, your one-stop shop for all things WVU in South Florida!
Our sole purpose is to promote the interest and welfare of WVU in the land of sun, surf and sand. Please join us! We seek to promote personal and professional development of alumni and friends in the tri-county area so that Mountaineers here will always have a home away from home.
Our activities include football Game Watches, community service projects and a soon-to-be Mountaineer Alliance which would incorporate business networking events into our Chapter.
Our Chapter’s signature event is our annual Golf Outing at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens. The event raises monies to support a South Florida student scholarship to WVU as well as a donation to WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital in Morgantown. Our Cheers Beers & Mountaineers Bash is held the same weekend for ALL Mountaineers – golfers or not – and includes a night together featuring dinner, open bar and plenty of Country Roads talk.

Welcome
Welcome to the home of the South Florida Chapter of the West Virginia University Alumni Association. South Florida has a rich concentration of WVU graduates outside of the state of West Virginia. The Chapter is involved in the important areas of student recruiting, advocacy and job networking. If you currently are not a member, we invite you to join us in telling the WVU story, and supporting the Mountaineers!
Upcoming Events
Game Watch Parties
Join fellow alumni and fans as we cheer on the Mountaineers. We hold gamewatches for all away football games and some basketball games. We also have special gamewatch events for other sports. Stay tuned to our event calendar and facebook for event announcements.
Scholarship Golf Outing
The golf outing is the chapters signature event. Over 100 golfers and alumni gather to enjoy the day on the course with other alums. The outing proceeds fund our scholarship programs.

We also have other events throughout the year. If you would like to organize or publicize a special event, please contact us.
Game Watches
Join us during the season for all WVU games at two of our Game Watch locations in South Florida. Even if you are in the area just visiting, please come join us!

Throughout the year we plan many projects, especially finding ways to help our communities, all while continuing to display our pride for being a Mountaineer. Consider getting involved and becoming part of something bigger for your community, and your Alumni Association.
